Dancing diamonds!!

My love with all that's blue continues......................... I have always loved the way the sun sparkling on the water creates these diamante butterflies which seem to flit around creating magical patterns............ This was taken a few mornings ago when we decided to head out to Alafia river before it gets too hot in the day and staying outdoors is no more pleasant.

Life's a beach!! :)

There was this article in today's newspaper rating nation's top beaches and North beach at Fort de Soto, Fl, tho' retired now, was the reigning champ in 2005. Here are two of the pics that we took there in Dec. I absolutely love the myriad hues of blue in the pics, from that of the sky to the water. I started out with this photoblog with one of the shots from the beach :

Precariously perched!

It rained here the whole day today: And i went absolutely crazy with my camera: shooting in color, black n white, sepia, tint: rain drops on car window, rear view mirror, puddles, leaves, flowers, shops...........i really went bonkers!!!! Here are some with raindrops precariously hanging there................. I dont think anything captures the "ephermerality" of a moment as beautifully as a raindrop! I absolutely love this work of Emily Dickinson that i leave behind here with the pics: A drop fell on the apple tree Another on the roof; A half a dozen kissed the eaves, And made the gables laugh. A few went out to help the brook, That went to help the sea. Myself conjectured, Were they pearls, What necklaces could be! The dust replaced in hoisted roads The birds jocoser sung; The sunshine threw his hat away, The orchards spangles hung. The breezes brought dejected And bathed them in the glee; The East put out a single flag, And signed the fete away. :)

Mom's the wor(l)d!!!!!

This is for my ma, my fav. aunts and all the moms in the world who fill our world with love like only mothers can :) :) Happy Mother's Day! I spotted them in our campus one winter afternoon : the brood of 7 ducklings followed their madre` everywhere, quietly and happily. Ever since, they have been a few of my favourite pics in the collection. :)

Blind Alleys?????

We briefly re-visited the national historic landmark, Ybor City, the Latin quarter in Tampa (the only part of oh-so-new-and-boring city that has character to it). It's a delightful place for the history-philes especially coz of its old cigar factories, where the old art of hand-rolled cigar continues to live on. We had not much time or quarters to park today! The pic of this indiscrete bylane instantly reminded me of India and all its gullies and nukkads(well not exactly nukkads, but i can't think of gully w/out nukkad!) :)

I love silhouettes : this looks more like one coz of the natural black color of crow, i guess! Hey ,did u know that a flock of crows is called "murder" !!!!! I wonder why??????

The exquisite beauty of lace curtains in this Mediterranean restaurant (which was otherwise a very regular set-up except for the awesome food, ofcourse) caught my eye. Lace has this timeless elegance abt it , right???? PS: Click on the restaurant pic to get the better view of the restaurant and its lace curtains: they make a pretty pic :)

Sun on its way down!

You can keep me away from the camera for only so long! Shot last evening, on my way back home from the lab. As the sun went down on a neighbour's window:I looked at it till it was no more visible on the window. And then went back home to catch that much-needed sleep!
