Tybee Island

Tybee Island, Georgia

Oats dancing in the winds are from Tybee Island, near Savannah, a beautiful island facing Atlantic, as rain storms gathered. I was the happiest when I found a lighthouse there to add to my collection :)

On another note, I have to share this : this must be a charmed blog. Remember once I mentioned here how my husband jokes that I should look for a job in Seattle, considering my propensity for rains. Well, I did not but he nailed a job there. So we'll be moving to West Coast by the end of this year. It feels like I have hardly seen any of East Coast and it's time to move on. Already? ......I have lived like a nomad for so long now that no move seems daunting anymore. Much as I am looking forward to leave school and move to a fresh life (that does not entail living paycheck to paycheck :D) and new place, I'm gonna miss the friends here and the place too (minus the heat). Hope everybody is having a great weekend :)

Cool photos! You captured the essence of the Atlantic Coast.

You'll have new subjects to shoot in the Pacific Northwest! :-)

Wow, on all counts! The photos are just gorgeous. Such great colors.

And the move to Seattle! I would do that in a heartbeat, it has such a good reputation. I couldn't live in Florida's heat.

That was me, Moi, also at Flying.

Hi Moi,
Interesting story, 'he' got a job in Seattle wow and now is he travalling around ,(or you both) or what? Well how long does it take for you to finish your school? It seems that you (both) have good/positive plans for the future, everywhere are great people, I have frieds all over Europe (even outside), because of my living elsewhere, so don't worrie, you'll find friends and people you like:).

Well the Photo fits by your future-idea: the oats are waving with the wind, such as you are flexibel (you still are) but time comes that you can settle somewhere...its soon the end of the year MOI, so take care:)

Have a great week (I am already in next weeks planning:)

Moi, these are wonderful photos. I have always wanted to visit Savannah and the Georgia sea islands. But Seattle is full of opportunities, I'm sure, for photos and otherwise. I visited there briefly, and cannot wait to get back. The Olympic peninsula is beyond beautiful!

I like your photography a lot. I also admire your courage and the move you are about to make. Seattle, Washington is totally different. You either love it or hate it -- that's what I was told the only time I was there for a few days speaking at a college at Edmonds, Washington. That was ages ago when I used to go around the country speaking.

It rained every day I was there but not for all day.

To answer your question that you asked on my blog...

I left and answer there too but didn't know if you would be back so I came here and here is what I wrote back there.

Yes, Norman Rockwell was a friend of mine.

Hi Moi,
Thanks for your answer. Washington will be very different from Florida but Seattle is very progressive and quite beautiful. They do have great coffee on every corner too.
Love these pictues of the grass waving in the wind. I think there is a message there.

I love the grasses blowing in the wind & the lighthouse photo.
I wish you lots of luck in Seattle - I've never been there but I hear it is beautiful with a personality all its own.

I've never been there but I hear that Seattle is really quite beautiful and a very nice place to live. When you are there, you'll have many new things to show us. I love your photos of the wheat here!

So you must subscriber to the Lighthouse Digest!

You're moving to Seattle. What a change. But I find the West Coast really cosy and nice, the people a lot warmer and friendlier. Shame you can't take your friends with you.

These are very cool, Moi!

Too bad you're leaving Sunny Florida, but it sounds like it's a good thing for you guys.

At least our friendship in the blogosphere isn't based on your location ;)

...Thanks for the well wishes. I'm flying up to Pennsylvania to visit some family and friends. I'll be posting some of my best images that I capture there! I'll be shooting some with my Dad (Salty) and my Cousin Amy.

i love how you framed the lighthouse in the second shot.... you would almost miss it if you didn't look close. very nice...

so you'll be done with school this year? there has always been an appeal to the west coast for me, too. more so the oregon coastline. but i do think the rain and fog would 'dampen' my spirits... pun intended :)

i have an artist frined that i grew up with in the blue ridge that is based in seattle. when you guys move there, i'll give you her contact info. a new move is always an exciting endeavor....

Moi... enjoy and move around while you can... after you have kids and your parents get older you will want to settle down and just be near them... since you are getting better each day (love this last picture), we'll be happy to follow you cross-country!

I love the first photo, that steely sky as a backdrop is beautiful.

Your move to Seattle sounds great, I should think you'll enjoy it more than Florida. Good luck on your job search!

WOW, the west coast! Where have I been? I absolutely love this shot and the perspective. The lighthouse coming through is great! I think I would love Seattle! Why? I miss the London rains and the wetness....it really was beautiful!

Miss ya Moi! :)

I like the lighthouse and the oats photo.

About your moving - isn't it nice to know that wherever you go, you are still our daily city photo "neighbor".

Hope it becomes a move you enjoy and appreciate. I've always heard Seattle is lovely. Hopefully, you won't be "sleepless". ;)

i wonder how this would look with a closeup of one of the stalks in the foreground...shifting focus...

The second shot is composed very beautifully

Nice sky, nice verticals, cool out-of-focus lighthouse (good dof!)

i like this shot very much

...here anyway we look the coast is near (in an island is usual...) the wet heat in summer sometimes is hard but... the north wind (tramontana we call it) its so strong that refreshes all and everything starts again... the island of Minorca (spain) is a very nice place to live in (and rains very little)

best whishes.

I can't wait to see how your photos are from Seattle!! You take such nice pictures and I am sure you will like the West Coast....just because you will be with your husband if for no other reason! I have not moved alot so I admire your "let's get up and go and do it" attitude. Good luck.

Such a clever way to photograph the lighthouse. Cris said it well...you see poetry everywhere. What a wonderful mind you have.
Congrats to your husband on nailing the job. I hope you'll both love Seattle. Thank heavens you can blog from anywhere...it seems so far away!
