The local flavor :)

Farmers Market 1

Hers is the one of the faces behind the sun-kissed, fresh, locally grown plums, peaches, apricots, berries, corn (of course), fragrant herbs......... ...that made its way to our kitchen last morning. When we first arrived here in the nation's food basket, we were told, farmers' markets are almost a celebration in Midwest. And let's just say, denying that is simply futile. Each Saturday morning of ours begins with a trip to one and I can still taste the home-made banana bread we picked up yesterday, and the locally made fig preserve we picked up last week, and those bursting-with-juice plums we can't get enough of, and those berries we scarfed down the minute we bought them..........:) Oh my aching tummy!!!!

Wonderful shot. You've certainly capture a lot of character in that face. I love farmers' markets too. I'm torn between visiting one of them on a Saturday morning or just doing my usual yard sale hunt. Yard sales usually win out, so thanks for sharing your day. :)

This is a fantastic character shot Moi. There is nothing like homegrown fresh fruits and veggies. We can't get enough either.
Last summer our plum and peach trees were loaded and groaning under the weight of the fruit. this year there is hardly anything. We saw few bees and strong winds and colder than usual temps during pollenation time has made our bounty very small indeed. Its disappointing but i think we will have grapes and some pears.
Now i am hungry talking about the fruit...LOL.

I like the pictures very much - that top one in b&w is very nicely done - what a weathered face.

Such a face! I love farmers markets! All that lovely, fresh produce. Yum! We have summer apples on a couple of trees that make the most wonderful applesauce ever. That's if we can beat the woodchucks to them :)
