Lush Life

Newfield Covered Bridge, NY

"Men build too many walls and not enough bridges." - Isaac Newton
Here are a few scenes from our trip to the lush Finger lakes area in NY, last week.

I love, love, love covered bridges....and someday, I hope to cover all of Penn's. The one above was shot a few miles south of Ithaca, in Newfield, NY. On way to Ithaca, NY Rolling green hills and farmlands, on our way to Ithaca.............

Spinfluence

Spinfluence

I took a well-deserved summer-break (all my breaks, if you go by my claims, are "well-deserved" :D) from work last week to spend some "us" time with my husband. We went tripping a li'l to the north and a li'l to the south and everywhere else in between :) And now I can't get myself back to what I call the "weekday-discipline". Here's a (an???) hastily-edited (read amateurish) image of one of the storefronts that caught my fancy, on one of the trips. The store called Spinfluence, custom frames old record albums to preserve them for times to come! Hope to "get my groove back" soon and eventually return to regular blogging! :)

A gilt trip to work :)

Red, blue, and..... These days no matter how early I wake up, there's always light outside.....and by the time I am done with wiping sleep from my eyes, and that mug of coffee finally kicking in... the sun outside is just beginning to bathe all that's beautiful on my way to work, in its shimmering pool. This is my favorite part of the day till it's time for sun to set when I am out with my camera again. So no matter how rushed I am in mornings, I still leave with my camera, hoping I will get a chance to stop and click, and if I do get lucky, it sets the tone for the day....a VERY MERRY tone :) These are from yesterday's "trip" to work :)

“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.” – Iris Murdoch

Bar-red! Bar-red! Sunny side up! Sunny side up! I love summer! :) One last look...

To happy (July) beginnings :)

As fog rolled in.........

"I grew up in this town, my poetry was born between the hill and the river, it took its voice from the rain, and like the timber, it steeped itself in the forests." .........Pablo Neruda

I may not have grown up in this beautiful valley that I call home now but locals who did, am certain will find a resonating sentiment in Neruda's words.......:) We woke up this morning to find the fog roll in the valley to greet us. It instantly brought back memories of the precious few days we spent in Northwest (remember the move that never happened!!!). I still remember how the ubiquitous fog would fade away oh-so-briefly to offer a glimpse of the houses, the woods, the road ahead and then return even before we could realize that those weren't the figments of our imagination. What a tease! :)

Foggy!
