And the ride begins........

Harley- Serial Number One

Wisconsin means different things to us (Arka and I). While I can never get enough of its farm scene (it's the Dairy state after all and also the largest cranberry producer in the country, in case you didn't know ;D), Arka loves the energy of university town Madison and Milwaukee to my "gearhead" husband is synonymous with Harleys. He has grown up on WW II movies so we had to pay our homage to the recently opened Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, which we finally did last weekend. I had no idea that I'd enjoy the visit as much as I did.........I could not get enough of the old heritage models and ended up with a gazillion images to share ..... I don't think you'll see the end of Harley series here for a long time :)

Faith

Faith

This was shot in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at Savannah where we took refuge from the intermittent rains. I had almost forgotten about it till I saw Ash's beautiful "Prayer" post today. This elderly gentleman's head bowed in prayer compelled me to take this image though I generally will let people be alone in their intensely private moments.

I have lived a little more than the quarter of a century on this earth and as I grow, my faith acquires different dimensions too. It's no more religious but it's as powerful as ever in the smallest of the creations and acts and beliefs. As we all start a new week, all I want to say is Keep the faith :)

A Moment in Time

A moment in time

Much as I want to share the beauty of Mackinac Island here, I had to share this image shot this Sunday evening in good ol' Florida :) I love the reflections here and the moment warms the cockles of my heart for some strange reason. Hope you all had a great start to the week :)

It's Raining awards.............;)

Pitter-Patter

For someone who's been following this blog for long, the pic would remind them of the times when i poured out my love for rains every now and then , hither and thither..My fascination with rain drops is eternal...and guess what, while someone in North joked that Spring's caught cold .....Spring was sneezing here during the weekend and the beginning of the week.....We had the first showers of the year....a little early in the year but that's Florida for you...Seasons, if any, arrive early here. There was a tornado warning in the neighboring county and the hurricane predictions for 2007 are beginning to make news......The image was captured during last year's hurricane season from a speeding car.....This being the fag end of semester at school, I cud not find time to go out and shoot in/after rains.......Mark Twain once famously said, "Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it."..Well "We, the photo-bloggers" capture it for others to "eloquate" :)

Meanwhile, Cris has chosen me as one of the recipients of "Thinking Blogger Award"....It's heartening, really...I'm chuffed, to say the least. Thanx a ton, Cris!!

This is a meme where I need to pass it on to 5 other bloggers who make moi think. This is a tough one, considering that all the blogs I love to visit let me pause and tarry, ponder, wonder aloud, sigh or/and swoon :) I've been pondering over it and though I'd like to give a definitive list, my inner jury is still deliberating. So the best way out is, I choose all the blogs on the Link section of my blog as winners. Viva Blogging!!!! :)

Have a great Friday the 13th, all :DD

The Elixir of Life!!!

Mar 22nd is recognized as the World Water Day by United Nations and this year's theme is "Coping with Water Scarcity: Challenge of the 21st Century". The experts have divided opinions about how deep the crisis is as of today, but then as UN report says there are tons of silent crises, millions of people deprived of the water they need to live and to sustain their livelihood. In short, "Save Water"!!! Every drop is precious :)

Lest we forget!!!

....................Inspite of what the advertising/marketing poseurs selling dreams would want us to believe! Does it remind anyone of Fugazi's anthem........... ".......Merchandise keeps us in line, Common sense says it's by design What cud a businessman ever want more Than to have us sucking in his store??? We owe you nothing You have no control.... You are not what you own!!!................"

Two cents' worth!

Well, no pretensions! This was a deliberate attempt to create that nostalgic feeling say Raymond's "The Complete Man" ads bring :) Or the Hallmark cards! Got my paperweights, dropped them on a bed of fallen leaves and there I had, my own "two cents' worth" moment! :)
