It's back to grey skies today here but this weekend was too beautiful to spend it indoors. So we decided to drive a coupla hours north, along the Mississippi river to Galena. Its cluster of rolling hills and farms looked like a patchwork quilt and reminded me of Z's Villigen.

Hi Moi! Beautiful landscapes. The red barns don't exist in CH, so it's a treat to see them.
Thanks for the link to my page.
Simply heavenly Moi. I certainly couldn't stay home with scenery like that in my backyard.
As Hilary said I want to start my walk in the first shot and end with a cup of hot cider in the last. A++++ and 3 gold stars.
Very nice stuff here lately! Beautiful colours.

When you see a landscape like this, do you think, "what was it like, 100, 200, 300 years ago"? Those hills have witnessed so much - but remain aloof and beautiful.
Wonderful set of pics. :)
