Santa Fe 1

The Palace of the Governors, New Mexico

While revisiting the images from our trip to New Mexico, I realized I never got around to sharing some of my favorites from Santa Fe. These are from the Palace of the Governors where Native American vendors gather everyday on the front porch to sell handcrafted objects. They can only sell artwork that is crafted either by them or their household member. I enjoyed admiring their work, but more than that - conversing with them about their craft.

I absolutely love the panorama shot. I almost feel like I've stepped onto a movie set. The soft gold and browns really set the mood. Great character studies too. Glad you decided to share them with us.

Oh, Santa Fe is one of my favorite places!! I was excited to see your post as I was there this past October for a wedding. I too enjoyed seeing all the beautiful things they had crafted there. Their work is gorgeous! Your photos are wonderful too! I hope you show us more from Santa Fe!

Moi, your beautiful photos take me right there to Santa Fe! Especially love the first pic, but all 3 are great people shots.
Curious question: How do you get your photos to post so large?

Oooh I love such markets, especially for the jewellery! Even if I don't buy anything, its still fun to just admire the pieces. Btw, the clarity on that second shot is stunning!

I have been a frequent visitor to one of my favorite cities in the world, and you captured its spirit so beautifully. Makes me so homesick for it. Trying to convince DH to move permanently, but he's not as willing as I to pull up stakes. The cultures in NM have captivated me for years.
