An "August" view :)

A scene from Lancaster, PA A farm scene from Lancaster, PA.

A morning, from my porch The scene this morning from my porch.....

And finally , the reason to love August......goldenrod and queen anne's lace putting a cheery show, blanketing hills in their yellow and white...... Queen Anne's Lace Update: For those who are intrigued by the flower in the last shot, it's a yet-to-bloom Queen Anne's Lace......isn't it beautiful how this thing unfurls into a regular Queen Anne Lace.

Sister Ruth has tons of QAL on her farm, Moi, and every time I'm there I have to photograph it as though I've never seen it before. What an intricate plant! You clearly have had some great August days this year!

can see that the crown comes first. I guess they get directly promoted to Queen without having to be a princess for long :).

Fantastic shots. Love them all but the last one is really great. Very sharp and the background is perfect.

Have a great week.

Beautiful shots. That first one hints of autumn. I'm not ready for that!

The ones we have here in Switzerland don't have the pink tones, at least the ones that I've come across so far. And most of them are also a little less symmetric :-) It's a beautiful example that you have here!

I like the landscape, so spread out... makes me homesick. The flower is gorgeous. How are you doing Moi. I haven't been much on FB. Take care. Happy Labor Day! It is our independence day, funny huh the coincidence of dates.

Those PA farms are so well cared for. What a gorgeous view!
Our mornings have been foggy too. Lovely, aren't they?
QAL is amazing, and you've captured it so beautifully.
I love it in all stages, especially when it makes the little cup at the beginning of the bloom. There's often a tiny insect inside.
Have you noticed the red dot in the center of the white lacey bloom when it's fully open?
I hope you're enjoying the same glorious late summer weather that we are. I've been getting lots of gardening done.
I hope you've had lots of opportunities to spend time with your DB :)

Yup, looks like where I'm from. I grew up in Greencastle, Pennsylvania.

long time, no updates!!!

I've always wanted to spend more time in Pennsylvania. Thus far, it's been limited to drives on the Interstate while I'm headed somewhere else. Need to resolve that soon, because the way you capture it - like art on a wall - makes me wish I could spend every day surrounded by such beauty. Amazing perspectives.
