One Winter Evening........................

This one's yet again from my cold-storage (get the pun, get the pun!!!! :))))) One of my enduring memories of snow-fall is looking out of the window in Manali and watching snow-flakes cavort in the light of a distant flickering lamp-post. Objets d'art!

This is from the collection that i have from our visit to St. Augustine, Florida. The place was replete with shops selling antique wares: one wud expect that from a place that stakes its claim to be the oldest city in United States . It's a delightful place, if u care for a lazy stroll down the palm-tree lined town dotted with shops housing antiques, curios, souvenir, colourful family-owned eateries and Spanish-influenced architecture, but they burn a neat li'l hole in ur pocket. Li'l Quack!

Caught these fuzzy siblings a few evenings back near the campus pond. There were more than a dozen of them being taken out by Mama Duck for the evening swimming lessons. It was a sight to behold as their mom led them to pond and they went splish-splash happily into the water while mom swam as gracefully as a duck can :D The brood had 14 kiddos like these and all looked alike. Wonder if animal kingdom goes by names : Widdle, Waddle, Piddle, Puddle , Li'l Quack : heard of that story???? And then there was this Tom n Jerry episode with "the ugly duckling" :) they make adorable tales, don't they??? My fav. is the first one, whom i decided to christen as Li'l Quack, preening for the camera or is it just tickling itself. :)

Since the day i left Milwaukee...............

I was looking thro' my old collection, when I chanced upon these, shot in one of the most beautiful li'l downtowns I have seen on the east coast: Milwaukee. It was the first snow of the season and with festive season already on, the town had this charming feel about it. I guess, i am smitten by the place coz of the good time I had there during last Thanksgiving. I met a dear childhood friend in Chicago after eons, the road trip we had taken from Florida to Milwaukee had taken us to places never heard before and I had my first shot at roulette with winnings enuf to buy us pizzas and gas to Chicago!!! :) :) P.S. : This blog wasn't up and running then ...................explains the nostalgia, i guess. P.S. 1: They were all taken from a moving car , thats why the framing is all haywired!!!

Fresh, wet Iris. It's been raining the whole day here, thanks to Alberto (the first tropical storm of the season) and I wudn't let it pass without a pic on my blog, wud I ? :) Jas: Wud love to see ur rendition of it, some day! :)

Reflections!

Shot this a few nights ago, on my way back home. It's an unintentional juxtaposition(??) created by light on a window where the left bit gives u a peep into the house while the right side of the same window reflects the image of the opposite house! Wudn't delve into any philosophy here (philosophy was always beyond me, the lesser mortal :) ) but i absolutely love this shot!!! :)
