jen: it's a beautiful poem but then entire body of her work is beautiful..............:)
anurag: better than copying pics which are supposed to speak a 1000 words on one's blog!!! :)))) LOL!!! and it's a lovely poem of hers, if u havent read it.....she's one of the very few poets i understand.........so end up quoting her most often!!!!
see..atleast i dont go on ego trips to put up my pics..and then gloat to see how many people say "wow..thats a great pic" :P... that really does speak a 1000 words and more..trust me!!! :) i hate poyuts and poyums!! n' poyutessess too :) ... way beyond my realm of imagination :)
hey weren't you supp to call this 'divide'...;)...but its nice...kinda depressing, dunno why..but i guess thats the charm of a good pic, its gotta make you feel...
Somehow pictures of birds remind me of this commercial for Windex (or some other glass cleaner), where they poke fun at the guy who crashes into his crystal clean patio glass door!
I also do an imitation of this commercial. "I am bird, I am a bird", and then I crash into my balcony doors! :) Ever wonder what a PhD can do to you! :)))
jas: hahahahahaah! i havent seen this one but ur comment reminded me of another supremely hilarious ad that we used to watch as a kid: for Sinkara (or was it "Cinkara" , the energy tonic) where this absolutely pallid,frail,ready-to-drop-dead-any-second kinda guy drinks sinkara and breaks thro' the glass window of his office with the tagline "inhe chahiye Sinkara"!!! hahahhahahahaha! crazy!!!
still: thanx for returning the visit and the comment, ur blog's was a pleasure to go thro' too! :)
so lonely across a cloudy sky as if watching the horrors in mumbai and thinking what is going on...sorry this was the first thing that came to my mind seeing the pic...hate to be sad ..sorry again
shishir: hmmmm.....it wasnt meant to be sad...the pic...i dont want anything sad on my photoblog, my camera's one of my outlets of happiness...........and no apologies plz!!!
crazy diamond: i dont have it yet....but have always wanted to shoot sth on similar lines.
yes i know it wasn't meant to be sad and that's why i said sorry and i know ur photo blog is kind of a celebration of ur love for ur camera and the beauty that surrounds and now when i look at the pic its beautiful stiil lonely ..needs a partner i guess kind of romatic weather building up..hahaha
shishir: :)))) everybody needs one (a pardner, i meant) :))
anurag: thanks for waking me up from my reverie.......i shall provide u the fodder for entertainment soon; it's been terribly busy here!!! :((((((((( and ek baar dinner kya khila diya, u r gonna keep bringing it up, eh????
"WOW!!!" moi that's amazing!!!! hahaha sorry just couldn't resist it *tips hat to anurag* You have captured the bird perfectly and the quote from Emily fits so well. I love collecting quotes (per my sidebar :p). Emily Dickenson is also one of my favourite poets. Do you like W. H. Auden?
sandy: haha! thanx a ton! I havent read Auden much......I always remember him by the movie 4 weddings and a funeral. But emily dickinson has been a childhood favourite. :)
by the way, what does MOI mean? I was thinking you are somebody from the east when I saw ur comments on my blog and then was surprised to see your Indian Name.. (of course i know now u r indian). I can now see why your photos are so lovely and why so in spite of your being new to this hobby (by your own confession). It is because true photography is a work of art and you seem to be a poet inside.. anybody with a poetic bend of the mind can be a good photographer because the poet sees ordinary situations differently than other mortals. Like this photo of yours!! An ordinary mortal would just see a bird sitting on a wire.. but you? You saw it differently and that adds to the strength of a picture. And all you have to learn thereafter is how to use the lights and angles etc to bring out what you saw in the bird sitting on the wire.

do u notice, after ur comment, noone really went "wow! thats a great/awesome/.....pic":((((
regarding ego trips, am sure the whole blogging concept itself is tied to it in some way , if not essentially the reason behind it!
zibee: where ve u been ??????
kunal: no that was another one :) ......but that one's too tame, really! and i guess a lonely bird always carries a tinge of melancholy!
jane: thanx :)
Hmmmm, loneliness....
