I admire the drive of little kids to just get up and go again. Like in skiing, they'll yell all the way down and hit the fence, and get up and do it all over again. They don't have that fear of how bad they can get hurt. I wish I had that kind of an attitude! Its the fear of getting hurt and being in a real mess that has been a major roadblock in my plans to learn how to skate and ski! Moreover you see all these kids doing really well and you feel ashamed of yourself! :)
reminds me of the only elocution that i ever participated in, and the topic was "man, the maker of his own destiny" and my starting line or one of the starting one's was about how a kid falls and gets up etc etc.. and does god help him?? no. mebbe another man.. or something like that.. i still remember mom being scandalized.. told me that god is the one who helps ..hahahaha sorry if it's outta context..but it just flooded back those memories..
PS: i wont first prize :)))))) i was the youngest in my category.. stds VII through XII.. and i won!! YAy :))
jas: as kids, me and my brother learnt cycling together, tho' he's 5 yrs younger than me (fie on moi!!! :D)......and while it took me 2 yrs to master it enuf to take it on a busy road, he managed it much sooner coz he had no fear of falling, getting bruises, scraping his knees or making a supposed "fool" of himself.......if only i had smarts like that.... :))))))
'nurag: show off! am sure the whole comment was written for precisely that purpose: gloating!!!! :))) but funny nugget, for sure. can imagine ur mom's shock!!! reminds me of this one story (abt god, got nth to do with pics here).....arka's parents and one of their colleagues bought a new car almost together and while arka's dad being a confirmed atheist refused to visit a temple inspite of all urgings from his mom, this another uncle promptly went to the temple in his new car to offer his gratitude to the gods above.......only to come out of the temple to discover that 2 coconuts fell from the tree he parked next to leaving a huge dent on his new car's rooftop..........:D ,s hudnt laught at another man's misery but life has its own way of searing thro' one's faith. :)))

what way are you going to india and where are you going in india? i've been there before for a couple of weeks and we are going to be there about the same amount of time in the fall. i love singapore, so we are going to try and spend a couple days there on the way back.
i would like to go to new dehli sometime. i also want to go see the taj. hopefully soon (or at least sometime). we are going from lax-japan-singapore-kolkata.
Hey Swati, you got an invitation from Anurag to visit him in Chicago. Guess we should make the trip! :)
Its hot out here in Calgary..32 degrees C (nothing to beat the florida heat, though!) and this whole week is gonna be like that...my apt being on the top floor is like an oven...no airconditioning here and none in the car! :( I spent most of the day at work and the rest in the shopping mall to avoid the heat! :)I'll have to resort to the same tomorrow...
@moi- u are as bad as me when it comes to khattas!! :)))))
@jas- umm well.. u are not supposed to read so much into those comments.. i could always send u people photographs. :))))) but yeah.. always welcome..the more the merrier i say!!! PS: but do not shed hair..i hate long hair fallen all over :))))
Welcome to our kittydom. We used to be shelter cats in our past lives but now we have a happy home and we think that together we can make this planet a no-kill haven for all our fur friends. Come, join us in our cause and help us spread the word.

jen : it was real fun to see their enthusiasm, even after umpteen slips n falls :).......its in Chicago downtown
get the feeling that I have seen the first two pics. maybe it was some other kid falling on ice.
P.S: Corrected for typo.
Sarad: it was the second pic on my other blog when i wrote abt papa on father's day :) .....photographic memory, sarad???? :DDD
It's been so hot here - I'm cooling off now... ;)
I think part of the fun for kids IS the falling part... They don't care! :D Looks like a fun day...
For some reason, the dude in the 3rd picture reminds me of Tom Waits....
Tom Waits!!! :D ...maybe a tad- bloated version of him!!!! the trademark crow's feet are missing from his forhead tho' :)

It's a very strange experience to see your pictures of the ice-rink, while I'm sitting in the sun (35°Celsius!)
