The languid summers are here and now that textbooks have been done with and pushed to some remote corner of the shelf, my study corner de-cluttered, and teetering pile of papers put away for recycling....I seem to have so much more time on hands to stop and smell the proverbial rose. And if weather fairies continue to be as benevolent as they have been since Sunday evening showers, I get to stay outdoors longer and shoot to my heart's content. :)
This shot was taken a few Sundays ago when on our way to St. Petersburg (Florida's own St Pete's ..am not heading to Russia yet :D)we spotted this gentleman stopping by the highway as his car began to sputter midway. His canine friend does seem concerned, if you look closely. I wish I spotted them a few micro-seconds earlier than I did and this shot could have been so much better. I like it, nevertheless. :)

He really does look concerned, hey! :)
I love dogs>
Nice shot! I love the perspective.
Seda
Best friends enjoying nice weather. Nothing better than that:)
I do not know if loving of more the man or his
dog... :)
Love that car!!! Hum, I also have my camera in the car on weekends...
Moi, the picture is great! It looks like a cliffhanger scene right out of an old silent movie: the car out of control and about to drop into the sea, the driver trying to stop it, the dog concerned...
No worries, mates!
I was owned by a golden once ;-) and I can read their body language. This one is saying: Thanks for slowing down, papa, I will now hurl myself onto the beach and roll around in the sand...
Great catch, Moi!
PS Can't find your post on Spanish Moss :-(
Jas : he does , and i adore them to bits....:)
Seda Thank u :)
Oya It was great weather, indeed!
Nazzareno Dog, plz..he's adorable :DDDDD
Cris I think he was on his way out of the local vintage car exhibit that we had that day ....I cud not make it to the exhibit but am guessing ...:)
Geraldo hehe..now that u have said so, I can almost imagine it :)
Isabella Haha..and never mind abt the Spanish moss!!!
Nice angle:)
wow vintage a-rollin...
the dog sensed danger for his master. that's how dogs are...so protective and loyal.
That was nice of Isabella to translate. I speak poodle and they'd be freaking out.
It amazes me to see so many vintage cars in Florida. I'd have thought the salty air would have rusted them down to nothing by now.
I like it to, it's a moment of life.
love the car..... and i hope that your weather faerie continues to treat you well. hey, i know..... you blow a little of that salty sea air north and i'll blow you some of our nice spring mountain breezes..... sound good?
its a beautiful pic...the man (is that a golf cap), his machine and his dog...it could be a still from a movie...very yum!!
I agree with the previous comment (kunal). The man (especially with that cap) and his car seem to fit each other perfectly. I hope the engine problems weren't serious!
A very interesting version of the dune buggy here. Annie in Little Rock
Megster thanx ..i didn't had much choice there..by the time the shutters opened, the scene was almost done with!
Shnaggy I love dogs a lot too...:)
John hehe.....we were in Sarasota the whole of today......visited the classic cars museum there...got some decent shots...hoping to share them soon :)
BMM deal!!! :)
Kunal Thank u!!!!
Perpetual Procrastinator I wudn;t know.. i too hope they weren't serious!!!
Annie :)
The doggy appears to be chained, what's the string hanging besides it. Is the entire stretch of the beach usually fenced?
Hullo!!! haha, you are so funny! Just came back to say hello and wish you a good day!
I liked it moi,…especially the angle, as you are looking thru’ car window…half covered n half shown pic….its like one of those suspense classic movie frame…what do u think if you convert it to BW...just a thought!
Sarad: i really dont know what that string is about.....and no not the entire length of beach..it's a stretch of highway running over the sea......only that bit...
Cris : that was sweet!!! and hope u have a great weekend..:)
A-X : thank u. I did convert it into a BnW to chk the results......it's not as effective coz the colour of the dog and the car is lost......my 2 cents :)
A fine framing for a very kind image!
i like it too :)
Great find, "nevertheless".
Thank u still, diya and Chad
Perhaps he went to the doggie school of car repair and he can help with the diagnosis of the cause of the splutterin!
blue hopes moi has a wonderful weekend........
Ex-Sham : hehe..never thought of that one!!! :)
BMM: thank u so much, wish u the same..have a glorious weekend!!! :)
Wow what a fab shot!
I have posted a photo of the missing UK girl Madeleine in the hope that the more people see her, the more chance she may be found. Please take a sec to pop over to Cheltenham, thanks to you and your readers.
Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog today! Your pictures are fabulous! The one from today is charming. I love the kind of shots that you just capture on the spur of the moment. That gentleman looks like he's come from a different era.
Love that silent movie feel to the shot. You got a great capture.
love the car, and the dog is so adorable, this picture has a gerald durell feel, reminds me my family and other animals, the water enhancing the corfu feel
