The artist and his art

The artist

The artist

And his art

....And his art

Key West is a place where you can sit back and spend hours watching the ebb and flow of people. One place where its hard to distinguish locals from tourists: the whole place has this hot, summery languor about it. Every time we visit Key West, its only for a weekend, and yet unlike in other places, that sense of urgency does not grip me that we need to go about town lest I miss something worthwhile. I'm the kind who relaxes by exploring (is that a camera-lover's curse??) and yet in Key West all I did was amble around the colorful streets, sea salts on my skin and smell of fried shrimps in the air. It does not take long to internalize the laid back pulses of this island. And while strolling, if I chance upon an artist, I will make sure he's on the memory card ;)

Hi Moi, I thought I'd see the mall with the glass ceiling you thought to post - but instead I see this wonderful open-air market of art from Key West. What's not to like?

Great shots, Moi.
That little fraction of the place shows to me that it is a unique spot.

oh lucky you! to be able to just "go for the weekend"...but I agree, the best thing about a place is when you get to internalize the good bits while on break...this is a great photo and such a nice little story to go with it.

Key West reminds me of Jamaica - everybody takes their time to smell the roses...or hibiscus, whatever the case may be ;-)

Whenever you ask for something, the answer is "soon come", but of course it is always later than sooner!

I've thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, this morning.

We visited Mackinac Island, last year during the Lilac Festival. It's an absolutely beautiful island!

I have a growing interest in photography! I began to develop this interest over the past 2 or 3 years.

You are very talented!

Good shots Moi..! and i think u are right when u say, its camera-lover's curse..:)
well, so this time did u get his permission or is that candid photography...i recall you are shy in situations like this.

I've often thought that going to Key West would be nice for the very reasons you cite. But the heat? I don't know.

the settings in this pic resemble the 'I'm just a wayward traveller' pic, of a man on the bench. There seems to be some sort of pattern in both :)
