Hint of gold

Winter beauty

What is it about the light in winter that makes it so precious? I guess, it's the fleeting, ephemeral beauty of it.

Soon, it will be spring and these frozen trickles will thaw into gushing streams. Till then, I will continue to enjoy the stark beauty of winter :)

This is exactly how I feel about winter - I love the beauty of it and you have caught so much of that here - that fleeting light - the gold water are wondrous.
I have been looking at quotes about photography this evening and this one comes to mind right now:
"I didn't want to tell the tree or weed what it was. I wanted it to tell me something and through me express its meaning in nature. ~Wynn Bullock"

What a golden moment. That's just beautiful. And you're right, there's nothing we can do to hurry spring so we might as well just enjoy what's there. Thanks for that.

Since we don't have to slosh around in it down here, it has a magical presence to it.

This is so different from Florida, Moi, isn't it! :) It's another kind of beauty altogether. I'm glad you're getting to experience it.

No matter how long this winter has been, and no matter how much I have complained about it, I agree it is very beautiful and precious. That has really been the saving grace: it has not been slush and ugly this year. Too much snowfall!

This is a sweet and peaceful pic. Looking forward to the next. :)

You seem to be taking right to the snowy side of the country; your pictures are beautiful, as always :)

Moi, when I flew into Yellowstone, we landed in Bozeman. We looked into Idaho Falls, and Jackson, but for whatever reason, Bozeman was less expensive. It has a small but really nice airport, and the drive from Bozeman down to Yellowstone was extremely pretty, and not terribly long.

If you flew into Jackson, though, you could drive into Yellowstone along the Tetons. The most convenient place to fly into might depend on where you're staying. The Gardiner entrance (closest to Bozeman) is the one that is open all winter long, and might be best when the weather is still slightly "iffy".

I don't think you can lose, though, whatever airport you pick, because its all 100% beautiful country! We may (cross your fingers) be heading there this fall. I can't seem to get enough of the place :)

Great gift, Moi - finding beauty in the mundane...

Be forewarned - in the Midwest, Spring arrives overnight: you fall asleep with the snow and wake up to the yellow haze of forsythia!

How lovely. It is beautiful how the light is making that gold color on the water. You find beautiful things everywhere!

There's gold in that thar stream! (say it with a John Wayne accent) :)
Winter gives us some glorious scenery, no doubt about it. And of course you've captured it beautifully, as always.
I'm longing for some green grass now though. And crocuses. And daffodils. Our snowdrops opened yesterday. Yah spring! :)
