Having a field day! :)

Nodding daisies

I remember how I used to complain about the lack of wildflowers in the landscaped South-western part of Florida we used to live at ........and now that we have moved to Mid-west, I can't get enough of them!!!! Meadows, hills (I swear, Illinois is not as flat as people like to believe), road embankments….............wildflowers are everywhere. I wait for weekends when I can head out with my camera to tiptoe through nodding daisies, vivid blue chicory blossoms, queen anne's lace and countless others I am still to establish the names of! See if you can help me with the name of the pink one below! :)

Yet another wildflower

Queen Anne's Lace/ Bishop's Flower

those are lovely!! Can't help you on the flower though.

Figuring out a new climate is something I struggle with each move. Before too long, I will have these plain old boxwoods transformed into a little floral bit of heaven. I have seen many hostas and hydrangeas (spelled right??) in my neighborhood....so I am thinking I will incorporate those into my plans!

Sorry I don't know what the delicate pink flower is either. Beautiful flowers and nice compositions even with that huge bee or wasp in the Queen Anne's Lace shot.

I love wildflowers too. Even the ones people call weeds. These are nice shots.

I can just see you out there tip-toeing through the wildflowers :) Gorgeous shots!
The yellow flower with the daisies is birdfoot trefoil I think...or a relative. The delicate pink one is in the same family (fabaceae/Pea), but I'm not sure what it is. Can't find an exact match. It actually looks very much like a trefoil. Have a look at this picture of the yellow birdfoot trefoil:

This is a great site for wildflowers - Connecticut Botanical Society. I think you'll enjoy it :)
I hope you're having a beautiful summer, Moi!
