Yet another un-inspired week.......yet again I had to dig into the archives.
The summer that went by was a special one. I went wild trying to catch all the wildflowers around moi, some of which never made it to the blog. These musk thistles have been begging to be flaunted here. The transformation of green-with-red-edges core into satin smooth pink fibers is so pretty that I simply refuse to use words like weeds, invasive or noxious species for them.
We leave tomorrow for a li'l road trip up north.....hoping to get away from all that's "invasive" and "noxious" around us :)

have a great trip - look forward to experiencing it through your lens.
Gorgeous colours and textures there. You always capture the best. Have a good trip! :)
Love the variety from one single flower. I don't blame you for taking them.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I so love that top one!
To answer your question: I use the free picnik.com facility to put the black border on and to crop photos. I used to use Photoshop, but since I don't do a lot of other editing, it's faster to use picnik.
Happy Thanksgiving, Moi! BTW, I take it you're not using your Kodak anymore? :-)
The shapes and patterns in nature mesmerize.
Get yourself filled up and take your time, Moi. :)
long time since I visited your blog moi, thanks for the delightful treat
Beautiful nature...always inspiring. B-) Cheers - {H}
I've never seen the musk thistle before. It's gorgeous...especially through the eye of your camera!
Have a lovely trip...hopefully you'll find lots of inspiration :)
I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.
Nature has such an incredible range of beauty, I am both humbled and uplifted by it!!! I think these are some of your best snaps yet :)
The first photo looks like some exotic species of succulent plant. The light is just right to accentuate the beauty and symmetry of the plant. These shots are just gorgeous!
My little boy had hair like a thistle when he was a baby! That shot brought back so many fond memories! LOL
Lots of good stuff here lately.
...it never was "by a longshot" ;)
luckily, also in these days of rain, there we have the sun of your colors...
I'm so glad you went into your archives, Moi! These two beauties deserved to be showcased!
rich purple and gorgeous
