Li'l Dog's Day!

Came back from school after a grueling day today to find that our neighbours have adopted this tiny li'l adorable thingie: Ken! Got me all smiling instantly! :)This 2 weeks old dear "bhaoo" (that's what we used to call a pup as kids) cud hardly stand on its not-yet-firm legs and smelled of sweet talcum that its owner brushed it with. The kid looked sad: must be missing his mother and siblings, i guess! I was so scared to hold it in my arms, lest i hurt it! It's my first close encounter with a pup that small and am absolutley in love with it already! :) I had to take the pics , so here r two of them! :)

Life's like that!

It's crunch time here with this week being the last week of the semester : haven't held my camera in ages now :( I got nothing new to add here, really! For that matter, don't even have time to look at the old collections. Blogging will have to take a backseat for sometime now. Leaving the pic behind which soothes my frayed nerves everytime I look at it : guess in a week's time I can again go back to the sea and let my spirits soar with the waves and the gulls ; the mere thought perks me up! :)

Imperfections!

Din't i say somewhere earlier on this blog that I love an imperfect world????? The very reason I shot these seemingly-ordinary bathroom lights! The owner never felt he should replace the fused bulbs and am I glad he din't! :) :)

Casting shadows!

This one for the messy look it carries with the books. I removed the books later : but I prefer this shot any time over the one with the empty shelf! It's so much more personal unlike the next one which looks like .............."spartan"!

I decided to break my own rule: I had thought I'll continue with the Lamp pics but last morning while sitting near this window I decided to click the shadow patterns on my shelf and wall and I cud not resist the desire to put them here! There's a huge set of them (while clicking I just go overboard, I guess) but i liked this one better than a few others tho it carries that empty look coz it breaks the symmetry of the lines. (on the second shelf) ............i guess i love an imperfect world! Enjoy ur weekend! :)

This was taken long back .............what helped get the glow right : i guess was the color of lampshade: it had streaks of brown and ivory!

Let's Go!

On our way to Pinellas county this Sat: this was taken just after lights turned green and just before we moved into the drive gear. I absolutely love the colours of a beautiful summer evening sky! :)

Food Time!

I tried capturing pelicans in motion while they scouted for their food but with my basic camera it didn't come out that neat!Though I ended up with a collection spawning their motion, the swoop, the dip in the sea, and then a restful float after food. Shooting animals requires patience,I thought, but shooting birds I can tell you requires agility : I tried but still missed some of "the moments" ! Click on the pics to get a better look :)

The shot of Pier 60 (at Clearwater beach) at night. The seabreeze, the sound of waves clashing against each other and the city's lights at one horizon while darkness and sea at the other is sth I cudnt have captured on my camera but it stays with me.

Shadows in the meadow.

I guess I am in love with shadows, and the interesting pattern they create. This one was taken one late afternoon, long back. I was looking at my collection today to post a pic here and it reminded me of another of Emily Dickinson's poems ( I am in total love with her works) , so here's the pic with the poem :) "Presentiment is that long shadow on the lawn Indicative that suns goes down; The notice to the startled grass That darkness is about to pass." ------------------Emily Dickinson
