May showers

Picture 638

"Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain."

It's been scorching hot lately and I was banking upon that 20% chances of rain that local weatherman had promised for Sunday. Some of life's best gifts, I'm told are unanswered prayers. I would not know about unanswered ones for I am mighty stoked that we had a bout of May showers this evening. We cherish our long drives in rain. A shot from this evening.

As much as I am one of the people who adore sunshine, I can't deny the value and beauty of rain. Nice quote and nice shot!

Hi Moi,
Seems everywhere is desperate for rain at the moment, had a few small showers but that just dried off in minutes. Better get the watering can out again.
Cheers Mark

Attractive summons and attractive release. ... I prefer an attractive, blue one, morning of summer (even if to the sea!), ciao :)

i LOVE playing in the rain....it's been a while, though. on our old street, we'd get a big stream of water that would run down the side of the street when it rained hard and my son and i would go out and play in it...... fun!

We got a nice long rain on this side of Florida yesterday as well. I left my camera in my bag and took a nap. Sometimes my camera calls, sometimes a nap with Lovely Wife and the dogs is called for.

I love this picture.
I always miss the monsoons of India where one can soak the freshness of the falling raindrops without the fear of catching a cold/pneumonia. We have had showers here in Calgary, but one can't really walk in the rain without any rain-gear. And I had been yearning the "warm" rain so much off late. Well, my hearts desire to walk in the rain came true during my trip to Dallas, me and my friend went for a walk and it started drizzling...I was ecstatic!

And I forgot to add, it was drizzling and it was refreshing! :)

You know, Moi, more and more people will be thinking that rain is blessed as our earth moves inexorably toward draught with this warming we're undergoing. Your post is a good reminder to treasure the earth and nurture it.

Cool image.

Yeah, that storm definitely cooled things off over here in Lakeland too.

Moi,
The North shore of my state, São Paulo, is one of the rainiest regions in the world. In Ubatuba, a town with beautiful beaches, it rains approximately 4,000mm/year (that's 157.5 inches). You should plan to spend your next vacation here, lots of photo and dance opportunities... :-)

I quite like the abstract quality of the photo. :)

I have a love/hate relationship with rain; at times it's really nice and welcomed, but when it goes on for weeks on end it does become tiresome.
