Arms Wide Open

Arms Wide Open!!!

Gulf of Mexico as seen from the top floor at St. Petersburg Pier in Florida. Sea can be overwhelming as it stretches from here to eternity. Was in St Pete's for this weekend, and the shot from high above at Pier somehow makes you wonder how small we are in the grander picture of things, eh????

gosh, what an overwhelming shot, it seems endless and that vivid blue, only mother nature can produce such miraculus colors, we humans only come a poor second to it

I think at the rate we are going.. someday there'll be shortage of the water bodies too.

Btw.. wanted to know.. you plan these trips before hand and visit them with a camera handy or do you always have your camera along with you?

One of my favorite things to do is to remind myself how small we are! It really changes the way you look at things.

If you have Google Earth, try this out. First zoom into the place you live. Then press the zoom out button and keep holding it down. The zoom out effect is so great. Really, you should try it once.

What a view! I love this shot, it seems to go on forever into the distance. The people on the pier look so small in comparison. Have a nice weekend!

Great moi! I love to lookout on an ocean. The first thing I think of is how far my loved ones are from me....WAY TOO FAR!

Great shot.

The water looks...raked ;-)
Wonderfully wide perspective!

And we are just insignificant spects in the realm of space...(some more than others ;-))

Mountains and sea give us the feeling of our littleness...

Nazzareno : thank u :)

Suramya : love the blues of the seas.....it leaves me spellbound every time i see it and thats like every other 5th day or so ..even then!!!! As they say, all art is but an imitation of Nature.

Mr J : or there'll be too much of water to handle with glaciers melting all across.....I carry my camera around more often than not, it doesn't have to be trips..i carry it to school too sometimes:)

Yoda : I sure shall try that out. Sounds fascinating!!! The other day was watching Syriana, the movie. And again that feeling came back : how small we are in grand scheme of things, not just Nature's but even politician's .huh!!!

Lori : yeah they looked like miniatures from that distance...it's not that high really...only 5th floor but the expanse of the sea dwarfs everything else around ...u too have a great week ..:)

Anna : I know, Mine are farther across....every time i see waves, all i can think of is sailing away...just like that......and thank u :)

Isabella : lol @ "some more than others"...haha

Beautiful. Not many places to get up in the air in Florida. When I get two or three stories up in a building it feels amazing, it's been so long since I lived somewhere with hills.

Oh, and thanks for all the info...I knew those things but now some of my readers will too! :)

Cool, Moi.

We're small, but we're all still part of a much Bigger picture for sure.

Great shot - like Isabella said, the sea looks "raked" & the pier looks polished.

Hi Moi, I love this photo of the sea. I love the sea and I like how you capture the expanse of it here. It is very lovely. I have not been to the coast in ages and this makes me long to see the east coast.
