Vibrant Tropical Key West

Key West : Tropicana

I am back!!! Back with truckloads of photos (as always) and tons of beautiful memories that will last a lifetime :) It's been a beautiful one week full of laughter, joy, friends, family I never got a chance to meet and know before, some "us" time for me and my husband and we even managed to include a wedding in our itinerary.

We started out with Key West with my husband's childhood friends from across the ocean. The temperatures were crazy but the drive to the Southernmost point of the continental United States is a beautiful, scenic drive. And the place ..well, things down there are a little more slow-paced and a lot more like the way life sounds in Jimmy Buffet's songs. The place has a unique tropical charm and I'm not sure if it was the summer heat but everything there just seemed so much more alive with colors. The scene above is from the restaurant where we went noshing to sample the local fare. Vibrant's the word, eh!!! :)

Never been to Key West, but imagine its lifestyle comparable to that of Jamaica ("soon come" ;-)).

And those primary colors highten the senses!

Glad your enjoyed your trip and welcome back!

I hope that you got to see Hemingway's cats when you visited his house - God you're so lucky!! :)

Oooh, I'm so jealous! I haven't been able to make it down all year! And I love the restaurants there. They look like the craziest dives, but they have the best food! Blue Heaven and Pepe's are my favorites.

Funny you were in Miami this past weekend, because I was up in Tampa, Sarasota, Bradenton. :)

The restaurant is The Grand Café in the 300 block of Duval Street. It is pricey, but the food and service were good when we ate there last week. The grilled mushroom fetuccine was delectable.

We're fortunate to live in Key West. We've been eating out a lot lately while there's work being done in our home, trying places we haven't been to or haven't eaten at in a while. Favorites during this period: Saluté at Higgs Beach and Red Fish/Blue Fish on Front Street.

Loved the colors..and what a striking angle u have got here.

Jimmy Buffet...need to find out more about him now!

moi's twisted angle :) I had to turn my head to make head or tail of this one. The mirror adds to the colors.
