Red Hot Miami ;D

Rhapsody in Red

The color scheme in Miami is Crayola! As the afore-mentioned cousin exclaimed "Ostentatious!!!" in his impeccable British accent at the first glimpse of the city, my husband and I could not help but chuckle :) Few minutes around the city and he was agog with child-like enthusiasm, "This is exactly how you see Miami in movies!!!" he spluttered as we drove him around Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue. He was totally amused by the whimsical Art Deco buildings. It's fun to act like tourist guides for family and friends....and now we have a friend down from Michigan for Thanksgiving holidays whom we get to show around Southern Florida. Off we go to Miami and Key West again.....I feel like a Key West veteran already...this is my third trip there within a year's time!!!!!!!

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, all !!!! :)

Wow is right. It is bright red. I don't remember ever seeing a building this bright.

Nice shot.

I really like your sand hill cranes, by the way.

Wow - someone could have use this for ABC Wednesday as "RED" HA ha!

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving and Safe Travels!!

I thought the Miami color in the movies/tv was from the way they process and/or filter the film. I never thought it was for real! that is brilliant!

I've seen your name around the traps in comments on other people's blogs, but I've never visited yours before!
I'm not sure why I haven't!
But I wish I had!
I really like your photos - and I like your philosophy about taking them.
Congratulations on some great images.

It is surreal - has a coloring book quality. The color contrasts are great. You are so lucky. I'd love to see the keys someday.

That's one of the benefits (or curses ;-)) of wintering in Florida - a lot of visiting relatives from Michigan!

Are you packed yet?

I love the color scheme here, the red and blue would really well together...but it seems a little too bright for a building.

Yay for Miami and Key West, two iconic locations I've never seen. May I be your tourist visitor too?

Happy Thanksgiving, Moi, it was a good one for us. Yours looks very colorful. Yes, the snow was a surprise, but a good one.

It really does have a crayola look to. Crayons are bright, but not too bright -- probably a function of the wax.

It's an 'in your face' color scheme for sure :) And you caught it well with the close-up.
Sounds like fun being a tour quide...as long as it's an occasional voluntary job and you're with friends or family ;)
I'd like to see Miami and Key West someday.
My cold is better (with just an occasional coughing fit left)!! Hope you're feeling better too.
Our Thanksgiving was fun with 2 out of 3 of our kids here (and their other halves), plus 2 of their friends. Much hilarity and good food :)

That is a vividly colorful building. Of course I'd want to go in it. I suppose that's the whole idea.

Lovely colors. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I forgot to mention it earlier. Yes, you've righly pointed out that the stray pups shot (on my blog) was indeed taken at the temple steps.
