Here comes the hurricane season!

Raindrops - II

Rains came and how they did on the first official day of the hurricane season yesterday. Thank you, Mark , my rain angel, for sending them across Atlantic :) I sound obsessed about rains but trust me we needed them here in these parts and desperately so. South-west Florida is currently in the midst of a severe dry spell and water levels here are nearing critical levels. Hope these rains allay the significant water crisis we have on hands. The bush fires too needed these rains. As for moi, I love them anyday, everyday. My husband says, I should look for a job in Seattle after graduation.....I really won't mind if I get one !!!:)

Watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid last night....love the movie, love Paul Newman and love the song though it does not seem very happy about rains...I can make some concessions for lyrics as cute as those.........Have a great Sunday, all :)

"Raindrops keep fallin' on my head

And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed

Nothin' seems to fit

Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun

And I said I didn't like the way he got things done

Sleepin' on the job

Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

But there's one thing I know

The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me

It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head

But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red

Cryin's not for me

'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'

Because I'm free

Nothin's worryin' me"

I do not love the rain, it renders sad, even if I know that the rain well me (when it is not too much) is life. Hello, auguries to you and your husband.:)

Hi Moi,

It would be quite the change, moving from sunny, dry Florida to misty, moisty Seattle. I'm more the misty moistly afficianado myself. If I'm in the sun too long I start to feel like a raisin but if I'm in mist I feel like a plump grape.

Hey Moi....

I am finally back! I am glad that there is rain there! I have heard that Seattle weather is like London....I think I would like it ALOT! :)

Hope that you are well there and that you have a great week!

Congratulations on getting some much needed rain. Too bad it takes a tropical storm to do it.

Great shots since my last visit.

I'm glad that you got lots of rain.
I would prefer Seattle, too, I think.
I love the movie, but I think the song belongs at the beginning or end - not in the "body" of the movie. It dates a classic, I think.

I forgot to mention that I love your photo :)

Finally I got time to breath…Just came back from work n opened my mail box!

So finally your most awaited rain visited you…:)) …good good!!…now you should start making experiments on rain snaps…like rain drops, flowing water, reflections on street, etc….am sure you’ll luv it!
Yea, I agree, Seattle is the place for your rain passion! btw, is that a song from movie…or is it written by you..??

I have a love/hate relationship with rain myself, but I like the photo! I hope you only get the rain you need and definitely no hurricanes.

Anna: All's well here and thats what i have heard too about Seattle...:)

Mike : Thank u for coming back to check upon moi :)..and yeah it took a storm named Barry to bring two days of rains.....

Nikon : The song is in the "body" of the movie..let me refresh it for you....remember the scene where Butch (Paul Newman) is showing all kinda tricks on bicycle to Kid's girl, Etta.....thats when the song goes on in the background ...:)

A-Xpressions: thanx for finding time to check out the posts..:)The song's in the movie and I sure will love to try experiments as u mentioned but the rains are gone :(

Chad: I sincerely hope we don't

PP : i too hope that hurricanes dont come along with rains...

I've always had to travel to teh states in winter. And perhaps that's why i've never really been able to enjoy the rain there.
This is lovely.

I'm so glad you've had some rain! I love rain, the sound of rain is one of my favorite sounds in the world. I love your photo too, it really captures the stormy sky. I hope you get some more rain this week.

Hi Moi,
Hope that my flapping doesn't bring too strong winds to go with the rain....

Cheers Mark

I like your rainy traffic photo. We got a lot of rain on our side of the state too, mostly Friday night and Saturday morning, and I slept through almost all of it.

Lovely pic Moi! I used to love getting drenched in the first rain when I was younger..it was such a thrill for my younger sis and me we used to rush to the veranda and dance:) These days, I worry about my hair getting frizzy(:

I haven't watched the movie but I love that song!

Chica, Cienna, and Cali said...

Meg : me and my brother used to slip away to terrace while mom wasn't watching with umbrellas to splash the water on each other from the puddles on terrace..those were the days!!! sigh!!!

please do watch the movie if u find time ..am not a big fan of Westerns but the cheeky dialogues, lyrical photography and Paul Newman and Robert Redford make a lethal combination in this movie....its a lovely movie and i can watch it again :)

Your photos are so creative! Love the feet above and can picture you waiting :)
So glad you had some much needed rain. And to think close to this time last year we were being saturated with rains, which caused flooding.
I loved that movie. Paul Newman and Robert Redford...what a handsome pair! Love the song too.
Your Tarpon Springs history lesson and photos are wonderful. Thank you!
