A Moment in Time

A moment in time

Much as I want to share the beauty of Mackinac Island here, I had to share this image shot this Sunday evening in good ol' Florida :) I love the reflections here and the moment warms the cockles of my heart for some strange reason. Hope you all had a great start to the week :)

What a delight! Splendid the choice of the white and black.

I've never stepped in a sea that was not warm.
The feeling of sand being washed away from under your feet (or your butt, as the case is here ;)) somehow instantly connects you to the person with you. ok, that sounds weird now.
But I totally loved the picture.
It's a happy one there.

The ocean off the Oregon coast is always cold so you don't see people in it often. I agree this is a sweet photo :)

This is such a lovely image. I love the black and white effect too. I can just hear the waves! Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture!

There is something about the sea, and people at the sea, that speaks to our hearts, or the cookies of our hearts, Moi.

Nazzareno : I always debate before I convert my pics into Black n White for I love the colors of this world.....but with this one, I never had second thoughts. Am glad u appreciate it :)

TW : weird or not but u make sense to moi : every time my husband and I are going through a trying phase , we hit the beach to soak our feet/butts together and come back so much happier :)

Faye : we have year long summers here ...the ocean stays cold for about 3 months in the year...rest of the time "Life's a Beach" :)

Lori : Thank u and the sea that evening had a lovely surf. The waves echo in my ears too :)

Annie : True and the joy it brings in people's lives :)

Zeekat, Ash, Emery : Thank u :)

Su: Enjoy the times with your sister and am so happy that u liked the pic....Since i have never had a sister, this image is all the more sweet to moi :)

I love the picture! Are you in it?

And what do you mean "great start to the week"? Don't you know that Mondays are inherently evil????

Chica, Cienna, and Cali said...

Yoda : haha..I'm in it as a photographer..they are fellow beach goers , perfect strangers but happened to be at the same beach as i was ..and because i know Mondays are evil is why i wished u all well!!! :)

Its called joy in the simple things of life.
Your choice of black and white makes us focus on the action , reflections and wave action. Nice job.

Hi Moi, that works really well in black and white, it says so much without saying anything.

Cheers Mark

What a lovely image of a great moment. Your image is really enjoying and works very well in B&W.

Very nice photo in b&w & silhouette. The shine from the wet sand is nice, too.
Our bay temperature just hit the low seventies, which is as warm as it gets here. Before August or after, the beach really takes your breath away :)

Hey Moi...

Great shot! The tones are perfect and I love your OFF CENTER framing and of course...the reflections on the sand...my favorite part! :)

Hope you are doing well there!

Photowannabe: Thank u and there truly is joy and beauty in the littlest bits of life :)

Mark : Thank u and yeah i had no second thoughts about converting this one in Black and White .

Still : Thank u :)

Nikon : Thank u and those are lovely temperatures...u are speaking to someone who cant take too much of sunshine, but lives in Florida though!!!!

Anna : thank u ....reflections is my fav. part too and i did not notice the off center part till i read ur comment :)

the epitomy of childhood joy! we have yet to take sir laughsalot to the ocean...we're hoping to soon. he's had to settle for lakes thus far.

great photo, moi!

Sarad said...

good thinking. different from the conventional 'Moi' ocean snap shots. I guess you haven't shot foaming tides before?

My cockles are positively toasted ;-)

Lovely! What made you do it in B&W?

carmilevy said...

My heart's cockles are warmed, too. This image evokes such a sense of joy, of the wonders of being a child, that I can't help but smile as I view it.

Coincidentally, I posted something similar earlier today. You must have been sending me photo-psychic messages or something.

Your work with a camera continuously mesmerizes me.

I see that the waves are washing over them, and nothing is better than that. I've heard that the Straits water is pretty warm this year. Such a cool photo.

Monday comment was actually mean, at least for people working while you're on holidays... ;))
Anyhow, you're forgiven, because it's Friday!!!
