Fire in the sky!

A walk into the sunset ...

A walk into the sunset (well, almost :D)

As temperatures come down, sunsets seem to get intense. Today was one of those days: a slight nip in the air and we had to head seawards to catch the sunset. It was about time we hit the beach anyways, considering that we have been cooped inside for too long. As you can see, we were not disappointed. The sun on its way out created such fiery reflections in the waters and the skies that almost everyone stopped and watched as sea slowly consumed the glowing ball.

A Florida Sunset

I like the way you expressed the sun going down...the sea comsuming the fiery ball. What a gorgeous sunset. I haven't seen any pretty ones here yet. I think we are too far down in the flatter area.
I'm so glad you took some time out for yourselves today. It does a body good.

Have a wonderful day ahead!

(Replying on Ravi Shankar post -

first of all thanks a lot for that blog link...I must say he has got an exceptional talent of photography...it is such a phenomenal blog n I already added it to my favorites :)

Apart, talking about Ravi Shankar, yes....he is a great persona in Indian classical and on that eve, the way he was playing at the age of 87, anyone would have felt exquisite pleasure by seeing his intensified performance. I think that is why Harrison called him ‘the music’. I have seen ray’s pather panchali (and shataranj ke khiladi) long time back, but never knew it has got background score by Ravi Shankar till you mentioned here.
About Anoushka....she sound very different from her father...I guess, she enjoy creating fusions and may be that's why I just love the way she play. I do have her ‘rebirth’ track and you can find more here-

Beautiful shots, Moi. Did you get a new camera? That sinking-into-the-sea shot looks like you used a very long lens.

question: Do you think that the water in the sea is higher than the land?
I was sitting at the beach the other day when i noticed.

I like the second picture for the mood of it. The people, the sense of displaced time, and the life in the picture.

Am back at work. :(

Both of these photos are outstanding sunset pictures. It certainly does look like fire in the sky, but one that inspires awe rather than fear. Great job!

Both of these are magnificent. Truly beautiful.

I'm loving the "cool" weather on this side of the state too.

As I looked at the lovely sunset photos - I thought of Florida being the "Orange" state. This Florida sunset photo almost looks as if an orange is setting - not to mention how orange the sky and water is. It's really lovely. Looks like the people are watching the end of a movie. If credits ran afterwards it would read "Starring - The Sun, Sea, and Sky"

Too bad about your cancelled trip to Turkey way back when. Moi, if you want to see a more detailed post about the dervishes, I did one at my other blog. I'll sign in under that one, so you can just click on my name, and then go to Synchronizing.
