Happy moi :)

You know a perfect day when you see it! I woke up to one today :) The first day of the season when you know that the lazy, hazy, scorching days of summer are on their way out. We're poised between two seasons: an effortless segue from summer's heat to fall's lingering warmth. Suddenly my pics don't seem washed out in Florida's sun. It must have been Florida's sun that U2 were referring to when they sang "The sun so bright it leaves no shadows". But today colors looked softer even from behind the lens. I know I am gushing like a fool now but I haven't stopped smiling since I woke up and smelled from my porch, the scent of dry grass filling the air.

Sunlight filtering through the leaves of the trees on a soft evening. Not your typical fall pic but then Fall comes ever so silently in these parts :) Enjoy the days getting shorter as you kiss the last days of summer good-bye :)

I have days like the one you just described. They're just fabulous, aren't they? We're definitely in the start of autumn now, and while the winter mornings here are dreary (there are three rivers in the area that deliver a lot of moisture that turns into fog on cold mornings), the fall colors are just special and something to look forward to despite the fact that they signal the imminent arrival of winter.

The image is very beautiful, warm and transparent, but speaking in the summer, all of us wait with anxiety that ends because it makes too much still heat! :D

Up here, fall is already here and biting our asses with 40 degree mornings! As I type, I can barely feel my fingers ... they seem to be frozen ... brrr! I need to ask for the heat to be turned on :-(

BTW, I saw on CNN that some rain is headed your way, its raining in Orlando.

I know what you mean by a glorious day making you smile though. It's just such a wonderful feeling. We've had 3 perfect days so far this week, and they're predicting more. A person could quickly become spoiled by such glorious weather :)
I always hate to kiss our NY summer goodbye :( I could really enjoy the fall in Florida.
These photos are wonderful, and reflect your delight :)

Splendid light. I sat outside reading for a while after work last evening, and it was just great. You're right, it's so soft, I'd never guess FL.

BTW, my friend told me yesterday that she read you can EAT those puffballs, like you would a mushroom. No thanks!

Still happy:) ? I am thanks for sharing :)

I love the backlighted leaves.

I agree. Even though it's still pretty hot, the sunlight's definitely a warmer color as it moves into fall.

On this side of the state, we had a weather front move through and the temperature has been a little less, and the humidity is down as well.

Still hot enough to sweat, but much more comfortable than before.

Pleasant!
your writing and photo series on 'good bye summer' both are excellent...am envy you have beautiful trees around your porch. Now, I am waiting to see your yard-pics in FALL :)
Brilliant use of light..!(did you take these in early evening?)

The first is an awesome pic. Very fresh, sunny, feel good.

So you spent time at B'lore too ? One more in common after the Bong husband :D

I love this time of the year too! I really miss being up north at this time though. Fall is my favorite time of the year.

I totally understand the "washing out of the Florida sun" sometimes in the summer, it is so hard to midday photograph here.

Here's to "falls lingering warmth" :)
