There's only so much of number crunching my teeny-weeny head can take. So I finally put my work aside and decided to make hay (or shall I say photos) while the sun shines gloriously in Florida.
Steve from New Orleans Daily Photo has tagged moi to list 8 Random facts about myself. Earlier Radha and Granati too tagged me for something similar. I decided to pull up my socks and finally do the tag. Here you go! :)
1. I am born allergic to UV rays...so stepping out in sun even for 5 minutes leaves me with a potential chance of getting a nasty sunburn. That explains why I love rains as much, I guess.
2. I'm a hopeless, incurable romantic.
3. Sometimes I think I was just not born with the music gene. I can't even hum a tune right : One reason why I hold musicians in such awe.
4. Day dreams are my mini getaway. Often, you'll find me dreaming with my eyes open.
5. I have wanted to be a teacher, a doctor, a tennis star, a journalist (in that order) at different stages of my life and ended up being neither of them.
6. The tennis star bit of dream (too pie-in-the-sky, I know) was partly due to Steffi Graf and partly coz I totally love those cute tennis skirts :D
7. I want to travel for a living and I want to take my husband along. But I want to be able to come back (whenever I want) to a modest, pretty place that I can call home. Guess, I want it all or I do not know what I want!!!! (Can you count the "wants" here :D)
8. I can go on and on with my "I's" ...... it's time fellow-bloggers shared a little of themselves with moi. I will love to know you better. Please take up the tag and let me know that you did.
With or without the tag, have a great Sunday, all :)

Wow, the UV thing can be bad. Your new place might be very good for that, huh? I found out after moving to CH that I have some form of UV allergy myself, but only at elevations of 1500 m or more above sea level. One week each summer, I've suffered from a nasty rash on my face and hands (the parts that were exposed to the sun).
It gets real bad at times, Z..with age, i seemed to have acquired a certain level of immunity so it's a tad better now ...and I know what u mean....its always hands, face and feet for me too.....do sunscreens help you?? they do not work for me :(
Well Moi, thanks for the peek into your life. I like that you are a hopeless romantic, so am I. I hope that Wash. will be better for your skin than Fl. Be good to yourself and continue to take a break or two. It does charge the batteries and make things go better in the long haul.
Sue
Moi, I see your did a collage! Great! I use Photoshop Elements 5 for my collages. That is a great program for only $99. I can't believe all of the things you can do with it. You are so creative with your photography. I am VERY impressed! Thank you for telling us more about yourself. I hope you have been able to relax this weekend!
Hibiscus? Lovely.
The flower collage is great. I don't have your same sun problem, but I did have skin cancer, so I avoid the sun too. Glad you're moving away from the Sunshine State.
Keep taking care of yourself and getting restored!
i've been pathetic at collages.
the last time i made one for a cause (at work) and put it up at my desk, the housekeeping guys took it down. they must have thought it was some kinda litter :)
yours is awesome!
havin a lazy sunday right now. a lot of food, and a lot of tv, for a change. :)
Sue: Thanks for the encouraging words always, Sue :)
Kerri: Thank you so much. For now, I don't have access to PS....I intend to buy it once am out of school. This one was done in the free software called Shutterfly. Hope you have a great weekend too :)
Mike : Yes , Hibiscus this is. Thank you :)
Ruth: Thank you. And I hope you are taking care of yourself. Please do.
TW: Thank u , boy. This is my first ever. I am glad you like it.
Continue to have fun ...Sunday's not over yet :)

A very fine setting!
The romantism is a sensitive way of life. I also dream with open eyes ...to a better World, to my next painting, or about nothing...
Often ...
I like how you set the flowers into a collage-type arrangement. I love fall, but my least favorite part is that it means no more wildflowers until spring. But Florida is probably more forgiving than Pennsylvania in that respect :)
I probably took so long to do my thesis in part because I could not resist wandering outside to "make hay" while the weather was nice :)
May be you ended up being neither a teacher, a doctor, a tennis star, a journalist...But then you are a wonderful Dreamer...:) and we know, to top in your life, first you should be a great dreamer..!!
cheers n best wishes...:))
That allergy must be hard to deal with in Florida...nice to read more about you!

Terrific collage Moi. I enjoyed your eight facts. Great to know a little more about you.
Mike
Great collage, Moi, and thanks for the insights!
You'll probably love the Northwest. I hope you do, anyway :)
WoW...some beautifully captured shots with lovely lighting & the colours & it was wonderful reading more about you....cheers!
...the sun kisses these flowers before buds completely.
Your flower collage is just lovely. I certainly agree with the person above who says how creative you are! I guess it's good you'll be moving to a less sunny climate. Maybe you'll be able to spend more time outside. I liked your list!
;o]
I'm curious about your thesis too. Wonderful pictures... and your life little secrets :-)
Wow, thanks, that looks like a great theme to work on! Please keep us posted on your defense!
That collage is absolutely beautiful. Ready to be printed, framed and hanged on a wall. Brings life and sunshine.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Do visit again.
Moi, nice read, and I like the name you gave the flower collage, as much as the photo/s. You are so creative with the camera and with words. From your dreams - I can tell you like to teach, heal, play, and write. Nice qualities. Sorry to hear the sun doesn't set well with you - and thinking the liquid sunshine (rain) will be better.
I love your page, Is it ok if I add you to my list of photoblogs?
A very beautiful photograph; my favorite of the day on Chateaubriant DP
;o]
i've been wanting to know the answer to joy's question, too... what is the topic of your thesis?
i'm glad you went out and got some fresh air, moi... hope it sustains you til the end of the month...
Joy, Blue: I am working on Health Care Quality Metrics in an Outpatient Setting. Since health care services are one of Florida's major "industries", research in Health care is big here ...my thesis is not as elaborate as it's a part of Masters curriculum but I am working with my advisor to pave way for future work by a PhD student.
Hope the thesis went well. I tend to be a procrasinator, too. Someday I am going to do something about it.
Incurable romantic? Let's hope they never find the cure.

Love the pics!
Lovely collage, lovely name. Beautiful hibiscus.
Somehow I knew you were an incurable romantic :)
How sad to have an allery to the sunshine. Yes, you should be better off in Seattle, away from Florida's harsh sun.
I think there's music in your photos :)
You'd probably be good at all those professions, and I'm sure you'd look very cute in a tennis skirt :)
It was fun getting to know you a little better :)
(so many smiles!)
I had a lovely Sunday, thank you!
wow!!! allergic to uv rays. interesting. glad that i was able to learn more about you.
oh, and btw, i have some hibiscus in my backyard. since it's fall, they are basically all done blooming.
I'm a life-long, committed day dreamer myself. That's probably why I like writing fiction, it's a natural extension of that.
I hope you get the travelling job, that would be fun.
Hi Moi,
Very interesting list you have there... I was just reading Photowannabe Sue's list and found hers interesting as well...
Thats a great set of photos! And I see that the previous posting is really great as well... Gotta go get caught up on your stuff...
Sweet pix! Ah, lovely.
I used to want to travel for a living, but I'm getting old and tired, LOL!
I still like to travel, but I need a LONG rest between.
